Neurology Critical Care Unit

Project Details

We were honoured to deliver the flooring installation for the Neurology Critical Care Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. This project held particular significance, as our director, Oliver Cadman, received life saving critical care within this very unit in 2018.

A range of specialist flooring solutions was installed to meet the demands of a high dependency clinical environment, including Polyflor SD to the bed bays, Polyflor Polysafe Verona and Hydro safety vinyl, and Gerflor Mipolam Symbioz within the corridors. Each product was carefully selected to meet strict healthcare requirements, including hygiene control, slip resistance, durability, and ease of maintenance.

The standard of installation on this project was critical. With the unit providing urgent and continuous care, it was essential that all works were completed to the highest possible level, ensuring long term performance and reliability. Once operational, access for remedial works would be extremely limited, meaning every detail had to be right first time.

Prior to handover, our directors Oliver and Kieran were invited, alongside the main contractor, to meet members of the NCCU team for a photoshoot, marking a meaningful moment given Oliver’s personal connection to the unit.
